Indigo Dyeing Workshop Started
This is the third year of Indigo dying workshop in Konpong Cham province. Seven community people participated this three-weeks workshop. They grow indigo in the field near the river. July is the best season of cultivate grown indigo leaves. They cut several hundred kg. of leaves every morning and soaked them in the water for fermentation.
After the fermentation, they take away leaves and make indigo dye. During the very heavy work, those participants cooperate together to make dye liquid and practice dying . One of the challenges this year is dying silk yarn without fading color.
